who is musikids?

At Musikids, we run music classes for kids and their familes. Musikids offers a wide selection of music classes for the young child (newborn - 7 years). We also offer classes for the whole family, keyboard classes for the 6-7 year old & choir for 6-12 year olds.

Musikids is an enthusiastic and dedicated team of caring professionals who inspire & foster the development of music and movement in each family!

Kathryn , and Margy are fully licensed and qualified teachers who make up the Musikids teaching team! The Musikids teaching team is trained and licensed to provide carefully researched, developmentally appropriate music and movement programs for the young child– newborn to age 7.

If you believe in something so much & wake up each morning without any doubt that what you have in your hands is so precious, you just have to share it with the world!

Kathryn is the director of Musikids. She has taught piano, guitar and music theory for more than 18 years. In 2000, Kindermusik in Kathryn’s Corner was born in Corowa and in 2004 it grew into Musikids with classes starting in Wangaratta, Albury and Wodonga. In 2007, the Albury and Wodonga classes came together at the home of Musikids in The Slab Hut, on Gateway Island, Lincoln Causeway.

My childhood fantasy was to be a sibling in the Von Trapp family (The Sound of Music). Unfortunately this fantasy was not shared by my nine brothers and sisters. So my parents enrolled me in guitar lessons so I could emulate Julie Andrews!!

I have used my love of music throughout my life playing guitar and singing in choirs. It has been a bonus to have music as a background while studying a Diploma in Primary Teaching and then a Bachelor of Education in Primary Teaching. I have taught primary school children for 17 years incorporating music in the curriculum wherever possible. In the past 3 years I have specialised in Music Education from K – 6, taking whole class sessions as well as small choirs, a school music group with guitars, keyboards, recorder & percussion and directing a school musical for 200 students.

Musikids is an extension of what I love – children and music. It is a privilege to be part of such a dynamic team fostering a love of music and assisting parents in the development of their children. It is wonderful to see how much happiness music can bring to families!

The two main programs that Musikids use to foster music development in families are Kindermusik and Encore on Keys

Kindermusik Imagine That! Classes (children 3 - 5 yrs)
Kindermusik Young Child Classes (children 5 - 7 yrs)
Kindermusik Family Time Classes (for the Entire Family)
Encore On Keys Keyboard Classes (children 6 - 7 yrs)
Musichoir (choir for children 6-12 yrs)

Classes/lessons are 45 to 60 minutes in length and include parent participation for part or the entire lesson depending on the age group and requirements of the program.

Kindermusik is an internationally acclaimed early childhood music and movement program.

Encore on Keys is a new and exciting approach to keyboard/piano learning.
