If you believe in something so much & wake up each morning without any doubt that what you have in your hands is so precious, you just have to share it with the world!

Kathryn is the director of Musikids. She has taught piano, guitar and music theory for more than 18 years. In 2000, Kindermusik in Kathryn’s Corner was born in Corowa and in 2004 it grew into Musikids with classes starting in Wangaratta, Albury and Wodonga. In 2007, the Albury and Wodonga classes came together at the home of Musikids in The Slab Hut, on Gateway Island, Lincoln Causeway.

My childhood fantasy was to be a sibling in the Von Trapp family (The Sound of Music). Unfortunately this fantasy was not shared by my nine brothers and sisters. So my parents enrolled me in guitar lessons so I could emulate Julie Andrews!!

I have used my love of music throughout my life playing guitar and singing in choirs. It has been a bonus to have music as a background while studying a Diploma in Primary Teaching and then a Bachelor of Education in Primary Teaching. I have taught primary school children for 17 years incorporating music in the curriculum wherever possible. In the past 3 years I have specialised in Music Education from K – 6, taking whole class sessions as well as small choirs, a school music group with guitars, keyboards, recorder & percussion and directing a school musical for 200 students.

Musikids is an extension of what I love – children and music. It is a privilege to be part of such a dynamic team fostering a love of music and assisting parents in the development of their children. It is wonderful to see how much happiness music can bring to families!

I was born in Albury at least one thousand years ago! Although I have lived in Sydney, Melbourne, Deniliquin and Bendigo, it was back to Albury for me after having my family.

I have always been a lover of music, art, drama and film and I appreciate these art forms wholly. This may have stemmed from the piano lessons I took when I was young - but I really think it's because I love to be entertained! Although I do not play the piano now, I am more than happy helping my grandchildren develop an appreciation for what I love!

Hence, the reason for calling Kathryn after seeing a Musikids advertisement in the paper! I took my two granddaughters to Musikids every Monday and saw a positive change in both children. So I have eagerly been telling everyone about these marvellous classes ever since!
I also have a daughter who lives in the UK, who upon my recommendation has enrolled her daughter in Kindermusik classes as well!

As a result of the connection with the extended Musikids family, I have made many friends amongst the Musikids mums and children! I love to work in such a positive environment!

My job is to help the teachers ease into their day of teaching and to keep the ship in good shape. The rest is history.
